Full Job Description
Reporting to: Holiday Club Manager
Job Purpose: To provide a safe, exciting and challenging play environment, which will increase a child?s opportunity to develop physically, intellectually and emotionally in an environment that embraces diversity.
Working Relationships: To work as a member of a team, and participate fully in the day to day running of a high quality inclusive playscheme.
Terms of work: Sessional during school holidays
Wage: £8 per hour
Location: Carshalton
Playscheme Descriptions:
12 place Holiday club for children aged 5-12 years with special needs run 6 days at Easter and 14 days in summer.
DUTIES
Children?s Care Learning and Development
To plan group and individual activities for children taking their diverse abilities, ages, gender, race, religion, class, culture and backgrounds into account
To work face to face with children and facilitate play opportunities
To plan and implement a balance of structured and free play activities
To carry out written observations
To work with staff, parents, children and volunteer to agree care plans for children
To provide personal care and toileting for children who require it
To ensure children are safe at all times by implementing child protection and health and safety policies
To ensure safety of yourself, staff and volunteers, parents and others who access the playscheme site
To administer first aid as required
To model good practice for staff and volunteer team
To contribute to the creation and maintenance of a club ethos where diversity is valued, all children, parents staff and volunteers of all ethnicities, ages, gender, religion, economic status, sexualities and abilities feel equally valued.
To agree quality standards and methods of monitoring with Holiday Club Manager and implement as required.
To be involved in the development and review of playscheme policies and procedures
To organise the preparation of snacks that nutritious and delicious and with high food hygiene standards
To ensure the club environment is kept clean and hygienic at all times.
Management
To supervise volunteers
To contribute to the production of project reports
To contribute to the organisation of small scale fundraising activities
To attend steering group meetings as required
Marketing
To contribute to the promotion of the scheme
Quality Assurance
To become familiar with quality assurance system
To implement monitoring systems
To ensure staff and volunteers are familiar with quality assurance standards
Parent Partnership
To work closely with parents to develop care and learning plans for children
To provide information and support for parents as concerning the care and development of their children
To ensure parents receive regular feedback on children
Partnership with Host Venue
To actively engage host venue as partners in the scheme
To communicate regularly and effectively about practical strategic and issues
To develop good relationship with the host
Other
To contribute to the long-term development of the scheme
To attend meetings when required
To work in an anti-discriminatory way within an equal opportunities framework.
To contribute to annual review of job descriptions, policies and procedures.
Working within agreed policies and procedures
Carry out any other duties as required.
